10 Facebook Marketing Tips (part 2)

facebook marketing tips 2 10 Facebook Marketing Tips (part 2)Last time, we talked about five entry level Facebook marketing tips that you can use to get your fan page setup properly, and so you can start tracking and advertising against demographic data. But today, I’d like to take those ideas to the next level and show you how to kick your Facebook marketing into an even higher gear.

If you’re new to Facebook, or social media in general, hang in there, it will all make sense in due time!

6. Optimize Facebook Ad Campaigns

When using Facebook ads, it’s important that you constantly split-test everything from images to headers so that you can continually improve ad performance. When you do this, you’ll save money on clicks, and you’ll get more bang for your buck.

Another important part of campaign optimization is tracking landing page conversion. If you’re sending them to your fan page, how many click the like button? What about an external URL? Are they buying/signing up to your newsletter, or are they immediately hitting the back button?

Track which pages work best to help you achieve the result you want to achieve, which leads us to the next point.

7. Define Your Key Facebook Marketing Metrics

Solid social media campaigns have a very specific aim, which I believe should be to add more leads to your funnel. This could be everything from an email address, to a blog subscriber, but make sure you define and track this metric. If possible, track them from lead to customer, or conversely, from lead to non-subscriber. An email address is much more powerful than a FB like, because once you have the email, it’s easy to get them back to your fan page.

Know what you want, and then go all out getting it.

8. Don’t Cross Post To Facebook

Especially from Twitter!!! Some people will tell you that cross-posting data across all of your social media streams is smart, but I believe that it’s both disingenuous and insulting to your audience. If you’re going to use Facebook, use it! Nobody likes a robot, and people are much less likely to join the conversation if there’s no one on the other end.

9. Follow Up

The relationship doesn’t stop on Facebook. Once you have a fan or lead generated from Facebook, follow them to Twitter and any other social media network that they’re a member of. If you’re smart, you’ll gently remind them who you are without being obnoxious, and over time, they’ll see you as part of their social circle.

10. Use Your User!

In the past, you’d have to wait for users to come to you, but now that your an go out and post as a page, you can join groups, like other pages, and interact where people are already interacting, which only further enhances your social profile. This feature is a gift – use it!

I hope you enjoyed these 10 Facebook marketing tips, and that you can use them to turn your social media funnel into an awesome profit generation machine. Just remember to start slow, don’t get burned out, and don’t spam anyone. You don’t have to do all of this at once, but the more practice you get, the better you’ll get at Facebook marketing.
